Managing multiple agents

If you need a chatbot on multiple websites or on different parts of one website, we recommend creating a separate agent for each case. Each agent has its own script, its own data sources, and its own configuration.

1. When to use multiple agents

  • Different websites for different countries or languages — each website has its own agent configured for that language and region, with its own data sources in that language. Such an agent responds more accurately than one multilingual agent sharing sources from all countries.
  • Different sections of one website — for example customer support and business partner departments on the same website. Each agent then works only with relevant data and does not display information intended for the other group.

2. How to create a new agent

  1. In the left menu, click the dropdown with the name of the current agent (under the Agent item).

2.1 How to deploy agents to the right places

Each agent has its own script available under Configuration → Script. The script contains a unique agent ID — by deploying different scripts to different places, you determine where each agent appears.

  • Different websites: Deploy each agent's script on its website.
  • Different parts of one website: Deploy scripts via Google Tag Manager and for each one set a trigger with a Page URL condition so it runs only on the relevant pages.

You can find the procedure for both deployment methods in Website deployment.

The exact deployment method depends on your website's technical platform. If you are unsure, contact your website administrator or developer.
