Topping up credit

Credit powers your chatbot's operation — it is consumed for processed conversations and messages. Topping up credit — both manual and automatic — is available only for organizations with a paid subscription. On the Free plan you cannot top up credit; first switch to a paid plan in Choosing a subscription.

1. How credit works

On the Payments page you see two types of balance:

  • Monthly credit — included in your prepaid plan and automatically renewed each month.
  • Prepaid card balance — topped-up credit that starts being consumed when monthly credit runs out.

Once monthly credit is used up, Kanbu continues from the prepaid card balance. If that is also at zero and you do not have automatic top-up enabled, the chatbot stops responding.

2. Manual top-up

A one-time manual credit top-up — you enter an amount and pay through the payment gateway.

3. Automatic top-up

Kanbu tops up credit on its own when the balance drops below the threshold you set. You configure the lower threshold, top-up amount, and monthly cap.

4. What happens when credit runs out

How the chatbot behaves when credit runs out and how to restore operation.
